A wedding is something so special in its own right, but having 60 plus friends and family jet away to a tropical isle to spend it with you is simply moving. The group of guests that surrounded Sam and Adam on their day/week were clearly there not so much out of obligation, but as a show of the utmost support and love. So many times throughout the day we witnessed an incredible bond between the wedding party and the soon to be bride and groom. Sometimes it’s in the quiet moments, sometimes it’s in making sure every little detail is just right. These ladies, are 100% pure genuine sweetie-pies. Filled with love and laughter and complete happiness. With the guys, it extended to an infectious scrum you would find in a team that made it to the final 4 of NCAA fame. Starting from hushed words to an insane roaring chant as the scrum swayed back and forth only to break away as hands fly into the air. I seriously don’t think we’ve ever had a group of guys so intent on making a groom feel like a king on his big day. The result was hilariously charming.
For a perfect day to happen – there has to be love, friendship, involvement and fun. The ability to not take the day too seriously while secretly hoping everything goes perfectly is hard to do. It was the perfect mixture of feeling, heart and laughter from the group that made it so special. The ceremony was lighthearted and flowed smoothly once again under pastor Rick Yorks direction. The reception had such sweet little moments like the best man getting so choked up that he had to pause under the strain of his cracking voice but then following it right up with his rendition of “have a happy happy Hanukkah ” of Adam Sandler’s fame with the words altered to fit Sam + Adam… “have a happy happy wedding-a”. Still a mystery if Adam is indeed part Jewish or wants to be or just loves all things Jewish, Adam Sandler included. Regardless it was damn funny and he nailed it. We actually can’t get it out of our heads now.
The first dances were filled with a combination of sentiment and a lightheartedness which led into a special fire show by the talented Aguazul performers. Which in turn led to finally breaking free of the months and months of planning with some liberation on the dance floor… & the drinks.. they be flowin’. Congratulations you two. It was such a pleasure to capture this moment in your life. XOXOXOX r+m
