The Jellyfish… always so beautiful. Always knocks the flip flops right off our feet. Desiree + Court’s wedding was no exception. Romantic and flawless, as it always is when Mayte is involved. Packed with emotion and breathtaking at every turn. & When it comes to Desiree + Court’s love, they have it. BIG. So supportive of each other in every way and absolutely head over heels for each other. Before it all started, Desi got glammed up by our beaut of a friend Anna Nuet, and she too never ceases to amaze us with just how gorgeous our brides come out looking. Court, I think felt the same way. As she walked up to meet him on the Jellyfish patio, a wave of sweet excitement and a tap on the shoulder to finally let the day begin between the two of them. Just before this though, a funny moment between Court and Rob. As always there is a little direction involved in a first look as we explain how it’s going to play out… Where we will be shooting from etc. while Melinda was giving direction to Desi I was doing the same with Chang. The funniest part came when I went through my 2 minute spiel explaining the set up – once I finished I looked at Chang and his eyes were completely glazed over – paused for a moment and he said ‘I’m sorry what was that?! Can you repeat the whole thing?’ – talk about nerves! Or maybe it was the scotch.
The ceremony – once again led by the always delightful, always funny Pastor Rick York. Short and sweet with a few laughs but not shy on emotion. The sweetest part of it all? The lock and key ceremony. They had two heart shaped locks, entwined them and locked them together forever throwing the keys deep into the ocean, never to be found again. Sigh…. such LOVE.
Afterwards, Rob and I once again were swaying to the beats of Reggae with our feet in the sand, cameras in hand. Ridiculously goofy smiles on our faces and loving every minute of it. To be included as friends on the dance floor during a family’s most special day is a tremendous honour. Whether it’s our style, personalities, or simply the clients who seemingly always become our friends at end of our time with them – more often than not we are invited to stay and have a few drinks and dance the night away. This time as we were snapping pics on the dance floor, everyone formed a circle.. you know the drill, someone gets in the middle to show off their bestest moves – I felt a hand grab mine and pull me in front and centre to show what I got. The reggae was making it’s way through my soul and I def got my groove on – I feel I did ok loaded up with camera gear and being only blessed with a tad of rhythm. However, I quickly pulled Melinda in to ease the spotlight on me. She has much better moves than I. ;) And that in a nutshell is why we adore what do. New friends, dancing to reggae a stones throw from the beach under the starlit palms. Life is sooo good & as was the beginning of this incredible chapter for Desi + Court. Congratulations to you and to your newly blended and wonderful group of family and friends. XOXOX r+m
